Are you tired of losing track of important information on webpages? Look no further! With the Highlighter Chrome extension, you can easily highlight text on any webpage with just a few simple steps.
Simple Highlighting Process
Highlighting text has never been easier. Simply select the desired text on a webpage, right-click, and choose the "Highlight" option from the menu. Alternatively, you can use the default keyboard shortcut 'Alt+H' (or '^H' on Mac) for quick and effortless highlighting.
Saved Highlights
One of the most convenient features of the Highlighter extension is that all highlighted texts are automatically saved. This means that your highlights won't disappear when you exit a page. When you revisit the same page, all your highlights will be there, just as you left them.
Please note that while the Highlighter extension works seamlessly on most webpages, it may not be compatible with highly dynamic sites like Facebook or some email clients. However, the developers are continuously working on expanding its compatibility in the future.
View and Manage Your Highlights
With the Highlighter extension, you have easy access to all your highlights. You can view and copy all the highlights on a page with just a few clicks. Additionally, you can select existing highlights and choose to either delete them or copy their content for further use.
Customize Your Highlighting Experience
The Highlighter extension allows you to personalize your highlighting experience. You can customize the highlight colors and even change the text color to suit your preferences. Make your highlights stand out and make information retrieval a breeze.
Change the Keyboard Shortcut
If you prefer a different keyboard shortcut for highlighting text, no worries! You can easily change the default shortcut through the Chrome settings. Just go to 'chrome://extensions/shortcuts' and make the desired adjustments.
Open-Source Project and Community Contributions
The code for the Highlighter extension is fully open-source and available on GitHub. You can find it at https://github.com/jeromepl/highlighter. The developers encourage users to report any issues and contribute to the project, making it even better.
Protecting Your Privacy
We value your privacy and want you to feel secure while using the Highlighter extension. It is important to note that the extension uses Google Analytics to gather non-personal user information and usage data. However, it does not collect browsing information such as the contents of your highlights or the URLs you access.

30 Reviews For This Extension
If you select on LinkedIn pages that have reactivity, then this reactivity breaks. For example, if you select a name on a profile page and go to another profile, the page does not reload and the selected text remains from the old profile.
i am unable to see highlight.
helps with science
delete all button creata a side effect of reload the page, this is undesirable and may result in damage
This extension worked quite well in the beginning but then it just broke on me, it wouldnt highlight and whenever i tried to install and re install it would still give me the same problem.
Simple to use and clean. Exactly what I wanted!
Works perfectly thank you !
Absolutely outstanding. I love that the app saves all of the highlights. This is so useful for later reference. Thank you so much for the company that made this. :)
Originally was going to say it doesn't work but I just had to refresh my screens after installing the extension. I love it!! Love that I could create my own shortcut. I used cmd + H to highlight which is more convenient than the original for me

Can't get it to work at all for me. 12/11/2024 on a Mac. I downloaded super simple highlighter instead it worked great with no issues.
Good stuff, this is what i have been searching for a long time !!!
I've enjoyed this addon for months. I switched to this from another highlighter addon as this one would actually save the highlights in a more reliable manner. Recently it's stopped working though; my old highlights are still there, but if I try to make any new ones they disappear when I refresh the page. Hopefully this will be fixed as I've found this addon very helpful. I'm using it on the edge browser.
Highlighting does not work at all for me either.
Hello, dear Highlighter developer! Developer request: I want the mini lines to be displayed on the right side of the screen (on the scroll bar) as if you press Ctrl+F and see yellow lines where the found words are, just like I want for the highlighted words on the page. The colored lines will be the same color as the highlighted word. This way, when highlighting words, I will have a complete picture of the highlighted words at a glance and easily perform naivgation on the page to the desired highlighted word. Thank you for your work! And thank you for your attention!
doesn't work (in Opera, at least). Select text, right-click, select "Highlight", nothing happens. There seems to be no way to enable/disable the extension so I assme it is enabled since I see the "Highlight" option. When I first open this tool from the toolbar, it has an error saying "your markups cannot be loaded" (something like that).

Superb. Thankyou for the extension.
It works perfectly. Great piece of kit. I wish there was a pro version that would show highlights across all my devices. And, btw, those who say it doesn't work, maybe check Highlighter extension settings? Delve in, look it up, figure it out.
Does. Not. Work.
It's been years and this still does not work. Chrome might have broken something but the point still stands.
every one of these highlighter extensions does NOTHING!!! thanks for wasting my time!
it works fine for highlighting but i don't think there is a place to access all your highlights so unless you specifically visit that page, you pretty much lose what you highlighted. if i'm mistaken can someone please let me know? i really need to see all previous highlights and i don't know how many i have, or on which specific URLs.
ok
That's good
it doesn't do anything ??♀️
I like how it feels to use sadly highlights don't get saved on certain pages.
works exactly as I want it to. If you want to highlight PDF's, just use adobe acrobat :)
